Who I am
My name is Eve Lindemuth Bodeux and I conduct business as Bodeux International LLC. I am a freelance translator who translates from French into English and provides other translation and language-related services. I am based in the Denver metro area in the United States. I can be contacted using the information provided on my website, found at www.bodeuxinternational.com.
Why I process personal data
I collect, store and use personal data for the following purposes:
- to issue business quotes and estimates when requested to do so by interested parties,
- to provide a translation, editing, proofreading or other language-related service when requested to do so by interested parties,
- to request a translation, editing, proofreading or other language-related service from another professional translation or language provider,
- to comply with legal requirements.
Personal data collected may include your name, postal mailing address, email address, telephone number and identifying business number (Social Security Number, EIN, VAT or other, depending on where you reside). Personal data may also include banking details, personal information on résumés or CVs or information contained in documents you send to me for the purpose of translation, editing or other language-related services. All data is processed on password-protected computers and is not accessible by third parties. I do not sell your personal data or share it with unauthorized third parties.
Legal basis
The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the translation or editing services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request and/or carrying out a contract for services, or abide by legal requirements. This may involve outsourcing your request to another professional translation or language provider or providing your information to the US government for tax purposes. This may also apply if you provide a service to me.
Other parties who may also have access to personal data
For administrative purposes other parties may have access to your personal data, including the providers of my cloud backup, website, email hosting and other such business services, as well as other professional translation or language providers to whom I outsource translation, editing, proofreading or other language-related tasks.
In addition, content on my site (www.bodeuxinternational.com) may include embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites. This content behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. I do not control how other websites use your data; please contact them directly with any concerns or request you may have.
How long I retain personal data
I will keep personal data for up to 10 years unless asked to delete or remove it sooner. If I am asked to delete translations or related materials or data before the ten-year period has expired, I cannot be held responsible for queries or claims relating to the content, as I will no longer be able to access or verify the accuracy of the removed content.
Rights to access personal data
You may contact me at any time to request a copy of your personal data, or to ask me to rectify or remove the data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. I will take action within one month of receipt of your request.
Note about cookies
Cookies are small data files created by a website and stored on your computer or mobile device. Cookies are used on my site for plug-ins that allow for social media sharing. Cookies may also be used by Google Analytics for this site.
